The Washington Winter Show is dedicated to supporting local area charities who serve the needs of children and families in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. To achieve this mission the Directors of the Washington Winter Show sponsor an annual show in the District of Columbia devoted to antiques and fine arts.
Through this show, the WWS raises monies and public awareness on behalf of its chosen charities.
The WWS sponsors a three-day antiques show held annually at American University’s Katzen Arts Center. Each year, the Show has a theme that is interpreted through an educational loan exhibit and in one or two scholarly articles in the Show’s promotional catalogue. The Show features between forty and fifty premiere antiques dealers from across the United States and Europe.
Each year the WWS selects several local charities to be the beneficiaries of a significant portion of the monies raised during the Show. All eligible charities must have 501(c)(3) status designated by the Internal Revenue Service.
A grants committee, comprised of WWS directors, reviews all grant proposals and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors. The beneficiaries of the 2012 Washington Winter Show are the Bishop John T. Walker School for Boys, Starlight MidAtlantic, THEARC, Fight for Children, and The Founders Board of St. John’s Community Services.
The Directors of the Washington Winter Show thank you for your interest and participation.
Very truly yours,
Hannah C. Cox
President of Board of Directors
